You can easily learn type of grounding system in your home. First locate duplex outlet. Then remove outlet cover plate. Using bright flashlight look into the box on either side of the duplex outlet and count the number of wires attached to the screws on 110v outlet plug. The number of wires will tell you if you have 2-wire or 3-wire system.
3-wire systems – looking at one your 110v outlet device it should contain one black, one white and one green or bare.
2-wire systems – looking at one your 110v outlet device it should contain one black and one white and no green.
